Welder III / Fabricator III - Colorado Springs, CO

Springs Fabrication is currently looking for expert Welder/Fabricators for our Colorado Springs location.

Must meet the following requirements:
  • Capable of 6G certification in GMAW/FCAW and/or GTAW processes. SAW is a plus
  • Capable of reading complex drawings, including weld symbols
  • 3 or more years of code welding experience
  • Pipe welding experience up to 20” piping and/or large structural weldments required
  • Experience demonstrating X-Ray quality welds and capable of fitting up complex
  • weldments with consideration for tolerance, shrinkage, and heat induced warpage
  • Robotic welding experience a plus
  • Experience with various metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel alloys

Welders will be required to take the following tests: Shop Math Test, Weld Symbology Test, as well the following weld test:

  • 4" Schedule 160 pipe w/ GMAW root pass and FCAW fill and cap, also in the 6G position and / or 1 ½" Schedule 40 GTAW test in the 6G position

Advanced Technology Group , a division of Springs Fabrication, has an opportunity available for a Document Control Specialist in Westminster, CO. This role will directly support the Quality Management Team with technical quality documents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the Quality Management Team deploy the QMS (Quality Management System) ISO 9001 and ASME
  • Assist in data analysis of performance metrics, collection, distribution, charting and postings
  • Document notes taken in QMS meeting events. Contact and follow-up with those assigned Action Items from meetings
  • Coordinate the distribution of controlled documents and maintain accurate records of distribution
  • Coordinate the updating of controlled documents and maintain accurate records of updates (QMS documents, travelers and related items)
  • Support manufacturing functions through fulfillment of on demand requests for documentation and records
  • Maintain records, including submitting documents to the system and managing the records storage facility
  • Issue, maintain and control SFI / ATG drawings and customer-supplied drawings, ensuring that current revisions are available
  • Review all job files for completeness and accuracy prior to filing. Notify appropriate personnel of any discrepancies and assist with the correction of those discrepancies
  • Provide data entry support, as needed (Calibration Certificates, etc.)

      RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS
      • Ability to perform complex set-ups and operate CNC lathes, mills and manual machinery

    Requirements
    • Must be experienced in sanitary welding, with GTAW/GMAW
    • Experienced with welding stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steel
    • Fundamental understanding of various weld processes (GTAW/GMAW) and welding machinery
    • Capable of reading basic blueprints and weld symbols
    • Fundamental to advanced understanding of GD&T
    • Ability to operate hand tools, grinders, etc
    • Ability to operate and/or willingness to learn operation of basic shop machinery (band saw, shear, drill press, plasma cutter, etc.)
    • Fundamental to advanced understanding of polishing and surface finishes
    • Ability to work in a custom manufacturing team environment

    Advanced Technology Group, a division of Springs Fabrication, is searching for experienced, self-motivated Polisher. In this role you will finish custom engineered metal products to the surface finish required by our customers. You will work with a team of talented fabricators where collaboration and communication is key to completing projects on time and to customer specifications. You will train others in polishing and finishing processes.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Read and understand fabrication drawings.
    • Determine required surface finish and locations on metal parts, assemblies, or weldments.
    • Use grinders, buff wheels, stroke sanders, and other tools, to grind and polish to required surface finish.
    • Processes required paperwork according to Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Maintain a clean, organized and safe working area.
    • Support training of personnel in established polishing and finishing processes.
    • All other duties as assigned by shop supervision.
    • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
      1. HS Diploma, GED or equivalent.
      2. At least 3 years of metal finishing experience and knowledge of sanitary surface finishes (grinding, graining, brushing, random orbital) on stainless steel equipment for the pharmaceutical, food-grade or nuclear industries.

    Advanced Technology Group is searching for an experienced Estimator to study customer requirements relating to the commercial and technical aspects of all RFP’s. This qualified individual will be responsible for estimating all labor, material, quality and shipping costs pertaining to an RFP/RFQ that ATG receives and will respond accordingly with a formal proposal that meets technical, commercial, and profitability requirements.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Read and interpret technical specifications and customer RFP and Scope of Work (SOW) requirements.
    • Utilize Microsoft Office software for estimating such as Excel and/or Word.
    • Clearly and accurately interpret descriptions of processes and intentions in in order to build an accurate and competitive estimate.
    • Read and interpret sketches and blueprints including weld symbols, GD&T and drawing material specifications.
    • Experience with welding, machining and complex assembly operations.
    • Can build a sequence of processes needed to fabricate systems.
    • Communication with customers and suppliers both internal and external to our company.
    • Work with ATG material and component suppliers to negotiate and obtain an accurate materials cost estimate.
    • Work with Manufacturing, Engineering and Sr. Management personnel to obtain labor estimates.
    • Assist in developing partnerships with key customers and suppliers.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      Personnel

      • Must be able to read blueprints (Engineering Drawings) & have basic knowledge/understanding of geometric tolerances and dimensions.

        CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
      • Ability to do Prototype machining, R&D, and reverse engineering
      • Experience with manual machines, CNC machines, conversational programming and CNC coding
