Welder III / Fabricator III - Colorado Springs, CO

Springs Fabrication is currently looking for expert Welder/Fabricators for our Colorado Springs location.

Must meet the following requirements:
  • Capable of 6G certification in GMAW/FCAW and/or GTAW processes. SAW is a plus
  • Capable of reading complex drawings, including weld symbols
  • 3 or more years of code welding experience
  • Pipe welding experience up to 20” piping and/or large structural weldments required
  • Experience demonstrating X-Ray quality welds and capable of fitting up complex
  • weldments with consideration for tolerance, shrinkage, and heat induced warpage
  • Robotic welding experience a plus
  • Experience with various metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel alloys

Welders will be required to take the following tests: Shop Math Test, Weld Symbology Test, as well the following weld test:

  • 4" Schedule 160 pipe w/ GMAW root pass and FCAW fill and cap, also in the 6G position and / or 1 ½" Schedule 40 GTAW test in the 6G position

Springs Fabrication is currently seeking a Receptionst / HR Assistant for our Colorado Springs, CO location! The successful candidate will be an organized, self-starter with a minimum of 1-2 years of office experience supporting the HR department. The individual must demonstrate the ability to work with confidential information and exhibit a high degree of trustworthiness. The position requires a resourceful individual who can work autonomously. The candidate must be comfortable with ambiguity, take initiative, and demonstrate excellent follow-through. This position requires a team player comfortable with multitasking and prioritization in a fast-paced environment. Close attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness required. Additional responsibilities include office management and HR support activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greets visitors, prospective employees, customers and vendors in person and by phone. Directs incoming calls to appropriate employees and/or voice mail.
  • Checks general mailbox voice mail messages daily and forwards as appropriate.
  • Maintains employee attendance logs.
  • Submits weekly timecard data to temp agency for temporary employees
  • Assists new hires with paperwork, explaining the forms and ensuring completion

Springs Fabrication is currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Designer to add to our Engineering team.

CRITICAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  1. Solid modeling experience with ProE / CREO or Solidworks
  2. Experience in a job shop manufacturing environment
  3. 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment
REQUIRED ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE: Must have the ability to generate, read and interpret technical drawings. One must be skilled in the basic fundamental knowledge associated with drafting /detailing including third-angle projection, section views, auxiliary views, general dimensions and notation. Advanced knowledge of fabrication processes; welding and welding symbols; standard tolerances; geometric dimensions/tolerances; threads and fasteners; springs; cams and gears is desired. One must posses strong computer knowledge and be familiar with standard desktop software in addition to being a power user in the use of PRO/E or SolidWorks modeling/drafting software to be considered for the position.
      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
      • Develops 3D models for assigned projects and creates the required manufacturing detail drawings.
      • Interprets internal and customer codes, calculations, data sheets, P&ID’s and schematics..
      • Interfaces with production to maintain current and best manufacturing practices.

    Advanced Technology Group , a division of Springs Fabrication, has an opportunity available for a Document Control Specialist in Westminster, CO. This role will directly support the Quality Management Team with technical quality documents.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Support the Quality Management Team deploy the QMS (Quality Management System) ISO 9001 and ASME
    • Assist in data analysis of performance metrics, collection, distribution, charting and postings
    • Document notes taken in QMS meeting events. Contact and follow-up with those assigned Action Items from meetings
    • Coordinate the distribution of controlled documents and maintain accurate records of distribution
    • Coordinate the updating of controlled documents and maintain accurate records of updates (QMS documents, travelers and related items)
    • Support manufacturing functions through fulfillment of on demand requests for documentation and records
    • Maintain records, including submitting documents to the system and managing the records storage facility
    • Issue, maintain and control SFI / ATG drawings and customer-supplied drawings, ensuring that current revisions are available
    • Review all job files for completeness and accuracy prior to filing. Notify appropriate personnel of any discrepancies and assist with the correction of those discrepancies
    • Provide data entry support, as needed (Calibration Certificates, etc.)
    • Education and Experience Requirements:
    • AS or BS are preferred, or College courses or technical training in business/office discipline

        RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS
        • Ability to perform complex set-ups and operate CNC lathes, mills and manual machinery

      Requirements
      • Must be experienced in sanitary welding, with GTAW/GMAW
      • Experienced with welding stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steel
      • Fundamental understanding of various weld processes (GTAW/GMAW) and welding machinery
      • Capable of reading basic blueprints and weld symbols
      • Fundamental to advanced understanding of GD&T
      • Ability to operate hand tools, grinders, etc
      • Ability to operate and/or willingness to learn operation of basic shop machinery (band saw, shear, drill press, plasma cutter, etc.)
      • Fundamental to advanced understanding of polishing and surface finishes
      • Ability to work in a custom manufacturing team environment

      Advanced Technology Group, a division of Springs Fabrication, is searching for experienced, self-motivated Polisher. In this role you will finish custom engineered metal products to the surface finish required by our customers. You will work with a team of talented fabricators where collaboration and communication is key to completing projects on time and to customer specifications. You will train others in polishing and finishing processes.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
      • Read and understand fabrication drawings.
      • Determine required surface finish and locations on metal parts, assemblies, or weldments.
      • Use grinders, buff wheels, stroke sanders, and other tools, to grind and polish to required surface finish.
      • Processes required paperwork according to Standard Operating Procedures.
      • Maintain a clean, organized and safe working area.
      • Support training of personnel in established polishing and finishing processes.
      • All other duties as assigned by shop supervision.
      • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
        1. HS Diploma, GED or equivalent.
        2. At least 3 years of metal finishing experience and knowledge of sanitary surface finishes (grinding, graining, brushing, random orbital) on stainless steel equipment for the pharmaceutical, food-grade or nuclear industries.
        3. Ability read fabrication drawings to determine required surface finish and other specifications.
        4. Experience with grinders, buff wheels, stroke sanders, and other hand tools used to modify surface finish of stainless steel, steel, and aluminum products.

      This position leads the estimation and proposal group and studies customer requirements relating to the commercial and technical aspects of all RFP’s. The Proposal Manager will lead the effort of putting all of the necessary information together in order to submit a proposal that will give our company the greatest possible chance of securing the contract. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills will be necessary to put together a thoughtful and elegant written proposal.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
      • Read and interpret technical specifications and customer RFP requirements.
      • Clearly and accurately convey descriptions of processes and intentions in response to the RFP.
      • Work with the Estimators, Engineers and Sr. Management to gather all important information that must be conveyed in our proposal.
      • Assist in developing partnerships with key customers.
      • Represent Advanced Technology Group in a professional, courteous manner.
      • Customer liaison duties as needed within Advanced Technology Group
      • Works with a sense of urgency to provide proposals that meet technical, commercial and profitability requirements.
      • Identify, document and categorize risks as appropriate during the proposal development process.

      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES; The Proposal Manager will be responsible for managing the estimation group. This will include providing direction on estimate strategy, labor and materials quotations and ensuring that estimates are completed prior to the proposal due date. All estimators will report to the Proposal Manager.

      EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
      • Bachelor`s degree (B. A.) or equivalent preferred; or minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training in these markets; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • Experience in writing proposals DoE directly or Tier 1 suppliers is preferred.
      • Understanding of custom manufacturing is preferred.

        CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
      • Ability to do Prototype machining, R&D, and reverse engineering
      • Experience with manual machines, CNC machines, conversational programming and CNC coding

      • Must be self-sufficient and be a leader/mentor to others
      • THESE QUALIFIED EMPLOYEES MUST HAVE THE BASIC FUNDAMENTAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ASSOCIATED WITH MACHINING AND POSSES THE ABILITY TO GENERATE, READ AND INTERPRET DRAWINGS.
      • Must fully understand the process of machining.
      • Prior work history or knowledge of machining and programming “g-code” is crucial to this position.

      • Able to read and understand complex machining blueprints.
      • Able to write simple machining programs on several different controllers.
      • Sets-up and runs complex machining operations on the Haas Lathe, Feeler, G&L, Femco Vertical Mills and Femco HBC.

      • Periodically inspects parts during run and after completion to ensure parts are accurate.
