Industrial Painter - Colorado Springs, CO

We are seeking a skilled individual to apply a wide range of industrial liquid coatings to manufactured products in accordance to the specification of the OEM and Customer. The coatings may include one-, two- and three-coat procedures. The position requires a thorough knowledge of surface preparation to ensure proper coating adhesion. All candidates must be open to 1st or 2nd shift. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Applying a wide range of industrial coatings to fabricated metal products.

    Springs Fab ATG is looking for a Sr. Quality Inspector / CWI for our Westminster location. This qualified individual will perform quality inspection activities to determine product compliance with defined quality requirements, including analysis and interpretation of results.

    QUALITY INSPECTION INCLUDES, but is not limited to:
    1. Dimensional Inspection, including GD&T
    2. Visual Weld Inspection
    3. Surface Finish Inspection

    The Quality Manager’s main responsibility is to develop, maintain and enhance all quality activities that impact the business and its programs by leading the quality process covering product development, manufacturing and supplier quality. Quality programs include ISO 9001, ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and NQA-1.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Manage and direct all employees in the Quality and Document Control departments
    • Manage, organize, plan and execute the overall quality operation to achieve departmental and company goals
    • Establish measurable quality department operational objectives and assignments to support department plans and goals
    • Lead the training and education related to the Quality Management System and applicable statutory, regulatory, and customer requirements within our industries.
    • Develop, implement and maintain a robust internal quality audit program that promotes process ownership to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ASME Section VIII Division 1, NQA-1 and customer requirements per the Quality Management System
    • Coordinate quality objectives with Production and Product Development Departments to establish quality procedures and standards.
    • Act as primary point of customer contact when addressing quality issues and ensure that corrective actions are adopted and remain in place.

        Manufacturing Engineer - Westminster, CO

        The Manufacturing Engineer will support processing and forming operations in a project based, fabrication environment. This role will serve as a key link between the manufacturing floor and engineering department; requiring creativity and resourcefulness due to the custom nature of the business.

        Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
        • Provide guidance to customers and design engineers to establish manufacturable and cost effective designs based on cutting, forming, and other processing knowledge.
        • Convert engineering designs (in both design-build and build to print scenarios) to appropriate flat patterns and data files for cutting and forming.
        • Own forming processes and drive technology, tooling, and processing improvements to eliminate waste and support tighter tolerance fabrication.
        • Deliver clear manufacturing direction for production staff through 3D model based drawings, work instructions and SOP’s to support efficient routing and production of product.
        • Interface with processing suppliers to effectively transfer information required to execute subcontracted work.
        • Participate in engineering design reviews to help establish the most cost effective designs that meet customer requirements.
        • Stay informed on new manufacturing technologies. Investigate and recommend new processing technologies that improve efficiency and quality.
        • Support ongoing effort to streamline project initiation and execution by establishing standard processes and systems to create and distribute manufacturing data for sheet metal operations.

        • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
        • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering from a four-year college or university
        • 5 years in a Lean fabrication environment with hands-on experience with both light and heavy gauge sheet metal parts (up to 5/8” plate). Experience should include cutting/shearing, press brake forming, and welding. Machining experience a plus.
        • Additional class work in management type courses and problem-solving techniques is preferred.
        • SKILLS and ABILITIES :
        • Posses the ability to generate, read and interpret fabrication drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams and schematics.
        • In-depth knowledge of fundamental mechanical engineering concepts and how to apply to fabrication and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal regulations preferred.
        • Able to create flat patterns using parallel/radial line development as well as triangulation development (cones/transitions).
        • Possess good working knowledge of the effects of welding and brazing carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
        • Has thorough knowledge of the metal fabrication processes and associated equipment, including machining, cutting, shearing, press brake forming, and welding.

          This position is responsible for the implementation of the corporate weld program in direct support of the manufacturing and product development departments by specifying and planning sound weld processes and techniques for the fabrication of complex metal products. This is accomplished by possessing and utilizing knowledge of industry welding codes and standards and the properties and characteristics of metals and welding principles. The implementation of the weld program includes representing the weld program to customers, providing solutions and technical responses in support of the quotation and planning processes, qualification and documentation of welding program and coordination of welding nonconformance analysis activities.

          ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
          • Supports the quotation process by performing a technical review of the scope of work documents to provide input on weld process, weld consumables, weld times, heat treatment and NDE for compliance of welding requirements.
          • Supports the job release process by generating and specifying weld plans/maps, procedures/processes and submittals for welding, heat treatment and NDE.
          • Specifies, manages and schedules NDE, testing laboratory and heat treatment subcontractors.
          • Investigates, characterizes, develops and specifies new welding processes, procedures and welding equipment.
          • Drives continuous improvement of existing welding processes, procedures and welding equipment.
          • Establish, document and maintain welding procedures that specify welding code essential variables, restrictions, joint design, joint preparation and pre- and post-weld heating requirements for the weld processes and base metals employed.
          • Stays abreast of and evaluates new developments in the welding field for possible application to current welding processes or welding process improvements.
          • Provides guidance and technical support to personnel performing weld inspections to ensure welder compliance with established welding procedures, restrictions, codes and standards.

            SKILLS and ABILITIES :

            Three or more years of broad technical experience in a job shop or metal fabrication environment where welding was a primary function. Three or more years of experience in developing technical procedures and administering complex manufacturing processes and activities is required. These experiences shall be in the discipline of weld engineering or similar technical field, preferably including a minimum of two years experience in ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1 and Section IX, ASME B31.1 / B31.3 and AWS D1.1/1.6. Strong computer knowledge and a familiarity of standard desktop software such as Microsoft Word and Excel are necessary.

            • Ability to do Prototype machining, R&D, and reverse engineering
            • Experience with manual machines, CNC machines, conversational programming and CNC coding
            • Must have a positive attitude, be a team player and be project oriented
            • Must be self-sufficient and be a leader/mentor to others
            • Must fully understand the process of machining.
            • Prior work history or knowledge of machining and programming “g-code” is crucial to this position.
            • Must be familiar with “fanuc” base machines.
            • Able to read and understand complex machining blueprints.
            • Able to write simple machining programs on several different controllers.
            • Sets-up and runs complex machining operations on the Haas Lathe, Feeler, G&L, Femco Vertical Mills and Femco HBC.
            • Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions, adjust machine controls and offsets with minimal or no supervision.
            • Periodically inspects parts during run and after completion to ensure parts are accurate.
            • Processes all paperwork according to Standard Operating Procedures.
            • Maintains a clean, organized and safe working area.
            • Monitors job costing to ensure that the machining stays within acceptable limits to the estimate.
